Golf cart brush guards and nerf bars — 19 front guards, bumper bars and side steps from Jake's, MadJax and Star EV, priced from about $68 to $705. Brush guards protect the front body panel from branches, posts and parking knocks, and many double as a mounting point for a light bar.

Brush guard or nerf bar?

A brush guard mounts at the front and shields the cowl and headlights — the priority for carts used on trails, in brush, or around tight parking. Nerf bars (side bars) run along the rocker and protect the lower body while giving passengers a step up, which is particularly useful on lifted carts.

Fitment

Both are model-specific because they bolt to the frame at defined points. A guard for a Club Car Precedent will not fit an EZGO TXT. If your cart is lifted, check whether the part is listed for lifted carts — some guards need the extra clearance and some are designed around stock ride height.

Fitting notes

Most guards bolt to existing frame holes and take basic hand tools. Use thread-locker on the mounting bolts, as front-end vibration works fasteners loose over time, and re-check them after the first few outings.
