Club Car connectors are not universal

Club Car uses its own charging receptacle, and it changed across generations — a charger built for a Precedent or Tempo will not necessarily plug into a DS. Check the plug style shown on the product page against the receptacle on your cart before ordering. This one detail causes more charger returns than any other.

36V or 48V

Most modern Club Cars are 48V, but older DS models are frequently 36V. Count the batteries: six 6-volt units is 36V; six 8-volt or four 12-volt units is 48V. Our voltage guide covers how to check in under a minute.

Charging a lithium Club Car

If your Club Car has been converted to lithium, it needs a charger with a lithium charge profile. A standard lead-acid charger may not bring the pack to full or may be rejected outright by the battery management system. Where a conversion kit specifies its own charger, use that.
