Golf cart audio is built for outdoor use, which means weather-resistant housings and enough output to be heard over wind and engine noise.

Soundbar or component speakers?

A soundbar mounts to the roof struts or under the canopy as one self-contained unit — it is the simplest install and usually includes the amplifier and Bluetooth receiver. Component speakers mount into the dash or body and can sound better when paired with a separate amplifier, but they take more work to fit and wire.

Powering the system

Most golf cart audio runs from a 12V supply, which on a 36V or 48V cart means a voltage reducer — wiring audio directly to the pack will destroy it. Many kits include the reducer; check before you buy. Draw matters too: a large amplified system used heavily will noticeably shorten how far you can drive between charges.

Weather and mounting

Look for speakers rated for marine or powersports use — those are built to survive rain, humidity and UV, which ordinary car speakers are not. Mount the unit where it is protected from direct spray, and route wiring away from steering and suspension components so nothing chafes.
