TXT or RXV — and why it matters

EZGO's two main platforms take different parts. The TXT is the long-running workhorse with a leaf-spring rear end; the RXV (2008 onward) uses a different rear suspension and drivetrain, and on electric models a different braking system. Body panels, lift kits and light kits are platform-specific, while wheels, tires and most accessories cross over. If you are not sure which you have, the serial number plate under the passenger seat or on the frame identifies both the model and year.

Owners typically start with a wheel-and-tire combo — combos ship mounted and balanced, so it is a straight bolt-on. A lift kit follows if you want tires larger than about 10″. Seats and seat covers are the fastest way to refresh a tired interior, and a light kit makes the cart genuinely usable after dark.

Electric or gas?

Check this before ordering drivetrain or lift parts, because EZGO uses different front-end components on gas and electric carts. Electric TXT and RXV models run 36V or 48V — count the batteries to confirm (six 6-volt is 36V; six 8-volt or four 12-volt is 48V). Chargers must match both the voltage and the EZGO plug style.
